Social Program
Technik Chamber Orchestra
The social program of the Symposium also features a concert by the Technik Chamber Orchestra that will take place on Tuesday at 18:30 in the conference hall.
The Orchestra has been active since 1965 as one of the three groups within the TECHNIK Academic Artistic Ensemble, bringing together enthusiastic amateur musicians of all ages under professional guidance. Its repertoire includes works from various musical styles and eras, featuring a wide range of composers, including Slovak and lesser-known composers. The Orchestra regularly collaborates with guest soloists.
The artistic director and conductor is Mirko Krajči, with respected violinist František Török serving as concertmaster. In the 2024/2025 season, the Orchestra welcomes Ken-Wassim Ubukata as guest conductor.
Technik Folklore Ensemble
The Technik Folklore Ensemble will perform as part of the social program of the symposium at the banquet. The performance will include dance and singing demonstrations. Part of the performance will also include the opportunity to try on folk costumes and learn basic dance variations.
The Technik Folklore Ensemble is a part of the TECHNIK Academic Artistic Ensemble at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Established in 1953, it later expanded to include two additional artistic groups—the Chamber Orchestra and the Choir.
Comprising young enthusiasts, primarily students and graduates from universities and high schools in Bratislava, the ensemble is united by a shared passion for folklore, singing, and music. Their mission is to preserve, cultivate, and promote Slovak folklore traditions, drawing the inspiration from diverse regions of Slovakia, carefully preserving the unique local and regional characteristics of traditional expressions in their performances.
